Is the Liverpool Indoor Funfair open now?

Not yet. The Liverpool Indoor Funfair runs at Exhibition Centre Liverpool from Saturday 19 December 2026 to Saturday 9 January 2027, and is closed on Christmas Day. It is a traditional fairground set up indoors, so the weather does not matter.

Dates and session times

There are three sessions a day, each lasting three hours, so you choose a slot when you book:

  • Morning: 10am to 1pm
  • Afternoon: 2pm to 5pm
  • Evening: 6pm to 9pm

The venue asks you to arrive at least 30 minutes before your session starts, to get the most ride time.

Tickets and prices

Tickets are sold through Ticket Quarter, Liverpool's city box office, from the Exhibition Centre's event page. Opening day, Saturday 19 December, is £9 for all three sessions, including the booking fee. Early bird tickets for other dates ended on 31 October, and prices for the rest of the run are shown when you book.

Quiet sessions

Three sessions run with reduced capacity, sound and lighting, for children who find busy, noisy places hard:

  • Sunday 20 December at 10am
  • Wednesday 30 December at 6pm
  • Saturday 2 January at 10am

To check whether a quiet session will suit your child before booking, Ticket Quarter's customer service team is on 0344 8000 410, Monday to Friday.

The rules to know before you go

  • Under 16s must be with an adult aged 18 or over, and ID checks happen on arrival.
  • Bags are searched on the way in.
  • There is a café and baby changing on site.
  • The ride list is on the funfair operator's website, so older children can plan their favourites.

Getting there

Exhibition Centre Liverpool is on Kings Dock, next to the Royal Albert Dock (L3 4FP). There is parking on site and nearby. By train, James Street station is about a 10 minute walk, or Lime Street about 20 minutes; the CityLink C4 bus stops at the venue. Pair it with the Maritime Museum next door, or the Christmas lights in Liverpool ONE.

The FamDays verdict

Book opening day, Saturday 19 December, while every session is £9, or one of the quiet sessions if your child struggles with noise. It is a good rainy-day plan for the Christmas holidays, right next to the Albert Dock.

Before you set off

  • Book the big ones, turn up to the small onesThe safari park, the big soft plays and anything with a timed entry sell out in school holidays. Parks, beaches, most museums and the libraries never do. Every card says whether you need to book.
  • Go early or go lateMost paid attractions are quietest in the first hour and the last two. Free museums in the city centre are busiest between 11 and 2 on a wet Saturday.
  • Train beats car for the coast and the centreMerseyrail stops next to the beach at Crosby, Freshfield and Southport, and under the museums at Liverpool Central. Under 5s travel free and a Saveaway covers the day after 9.30 on weekdays and all day at weekends.
  • How we checkEvery listing is rechecked against the venue's own website every week, and each card shows the date it was last confirmed. If something has changed since, the Tell us link on every page reaches a person who fixes it.
