Taking the kids to women's football in Liverpool: Liverpool FC Women and Everton Women, tickets from £2.50
Top division football, family crowds, early kick offs and junior tickets that cost less than the programme. Where Liverpool FC Women and Everton Women play, what it costs for 2026/27 and how to get a first match right.

Ask any parent who has done it and they will tell you the same thing. A women's game is the best first live football match a child can have. The ground is full but not crushed, the kick off is early enough that nobody is up past bedtime, the crowd is families and girls' teams in full kit, and afterwards the players walk the fence signing anything that is held up.
Liverpool has two clubs in the Women's Super League, and for 2026/27 they are a few miles apart.
Liverpool FC Women
Liverpool FC Women play most home league games at St Helens Stadium, with three a season at Anfield, which this season are the Everton, Arsenal and Aston Villa games.
Prices, from the club's own ticket page for 2026/27: at Anfield and for category A games at St Helens, adults are £10 early bird or £12 on general sale, and juniors aged 16 and under are £3.50 early bird or £5. Category B games at St Helens are £8 or £10 for adults and £2.50 or £3.50 for juniors. Young adults aged 17 to 24 and over 65s pay £4 to £6. A season ticket covering all 13 home league games plus home cup ties is £70 for an adult and £20 for a junior.
St Helens Stadium is a short walk from St Helens Central station, about half an hour from Lime Street, and the club publishes a first time fan guide for the ground. The Anfield games sell faster, so watch for the early bird window.
Everton Women
Everton Women moved into Goodison Park when the men's team left for the new stadium on the river, which means the kids get to see the old ground that their grandparents talk about, with the women's team the main event.
For the Arsenal game on 12 December 2026 the club priced adult tickets at £10 early bird and £12 on general sale, and juniors under 18 at £5 and £6. Tickets are sold online through the club's ticketing site, by phone, or in person at the South Stand ticket office at the Hill Dickinson Stadium. One thing to do before match day: every attending supporter needs their own supporter number at the time of booking, children included, so register everyone on the club site first.
Goodison is in Walton, next to Stanley Park, with a bus from the city centre or a walk from Kirkdale station.
Getting a first match right
Go early. Family crowds mean the queues for food and toilets are shorter before kick off than at half time. Sit in a family area if the club has one marked. Bring a pen and something to sign; the players usually come over at the end. Expect the game to be an hour and three quarters including half time, so a six year old will need a snack at some point, and the ground will have one at ground prices.
If it is the Anfield game, make a day of it with the stadium tour and museum in the morning. If it is Goodison, Walton Hall Park is a mile away for a kick about afterwards.
The FamDays verdict
A £5 ticket, an early kick off and a player who signs your daughter's shirt. If you have a child who has just started playing, this is the match to take them to, and it is the cheapest top flight football in the country.
